I've never even heard of it! But I'm very intrigued...I'll look into it when I can find an English language bookstore.
some people love it, some people just don't get it. apparently summit is going to make a movie out of it... i really wish they didn't. as much as i love it and wish the author success, at least if it was another studio maybe it would be better but seeing as how much twilight sucked, i'm scared for this.
Welp. Better find it before the hideous movie jacket for the book comes out then, right?
basically, haha
imma ball til the day i fall

I absolutely adore The Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey, highly recommend it :]
Other ones I like are:

-Where the Red Fern Grows
-The Great Gatsby
-Catcher in the Rye
-My Sister's Keeper (cried a lot at the end)
-Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
-Uglies Series by Scott Westerfeld

I've read almost all of Sarah Dessen's books, minus 1 or 2.I also really like Jodi Picoult's books too (though I've only read 3 of them).

John Green's one of my favourite authors too. The Fault in Our Stars is probably his most mature book, but my favourite is Paper Towns because I loved the characters in it.
I really like Libba Bray and Maureen Johnson too.

Anything by Kurt Vonnegut and Albert Camus. 1984 bored me to tears, I liked Animal Farm much better.
I'm also a big fan of Christopher Moore, I think my favorite book right now is Fool. Had me in fucking stitches.

Right now I'm working on some Feng Shui Fusion book, I'm actually getting a lot out of it. I always forget how much I love reading, I've been stuck reading the same damn Winnie the Pooh books to my kid every day for the past three months so it feels good to pick up something that I enjoy.

I must say many of these books we were required to read by my school district. Sorry, but English class usually ruins most books.

Tuck Everlasting

(And dare I say a book written my a celebrity? IS EVERYONE HANGING OUT WITHOUT ME? [AND OTHER CONCERNS]) by Mindy Kaling. Just read it. I was laughing out loud and thinking to myself life will get better....seriously if Mindy and I would've been friends)

I just found this up in my mother's closet and I am planning on re reading after I finish the Casual Vacancy & Harry Potter y La Piedra Filosofal

LOVED Mindy's book!!!! Though, it didn't surprise me since some of the episodes she wrote of the The Office are my absolute favorites. But I agree, it was non stop laughing.

My favourite author is Thomas Mann and my favourite book by him is "Tonio Kröger" (my alltime favourite book) :D
I also really enjoy Jules Verne and H.P. Lovecraft.

Stephen King is my guilty pleasure :b I love his short stories especially "Strawberry Spring" (Night Shift) and "Mrs. Todd's Shortcut" (Skeleton Crew)

I also have to mention "A Series of Unfortunate Events“ by Lemony Snicket, I was obsessed with that stuff, I used to love it (and still do ;) )
I've read all 13 books and had a hard time awaiting the next one even though I was like 14 or 15 when the last one came out ... I'd say my favourites are "The Reptile Room", "The Ersatz Elevator" and "The Penultimate Peril" but I love them all :love2:
sorry for my bad english, I'm still learning :)

I adored The Golden Compass.
I've only recently gotten serious about reading again, so I don't have that many to choose from.

If I had to choose one author, I would definitely go with James Patterson, he's an amazing author. The Maximum Ride series (by JP, of course lol) is a must read, I never wanted to put those books down.

Hands down favorite authors are Stephen King, Chris Bohjalian, and Anne Rivers Siddons. I've read almost all of their books and recommend them.

Some other authors I really like are Gillian Flynn, Joshilyn Jackson, Mark Childress, Sue Miller, Pam Lewis, Robert McCammon, and Dennis Lehane.

A Song of Ice and Fire - George RR Martin. Amazing read the lot in 4-5 months!
Harry Potter - JK Rowling. Clearly, come now.
Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paolini. Couldn't believe how awful the movie was but the books are amazing! I have read them all at least 7 times each.
Inkheart Trilogy and select other books - Cornelia Funke. Again the movie was terrible but the books pure magic.
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

Agatha Christie. Everytime. Everytime she gets me.

Probably a few others but that's all that immediately came to mind.

I'm only getting started on my reading list so it's pretty short, but here it is anyway!

Authors
Harper Lee
Truman Capote
Ernest Hemingway
Sylvia Plath
Books
To Kill a Mockingbird
The Sun Also Rises
The Bell Jar
Breakfast at Tiffany's
In Cold Blood
The Outsiders
The Secret Garden

There are about a million other books I want to read. My Amazon wish list just makes me want to cry, because I'll either have to rob a bank or win the lottery to be able to afford it all. Sigh.
