One could argue that she's actually harming herself if anything. That video posted above was a tough watch, I hadn't seen it before and actually applaud her putting it up and showing the bleak reality that often comes with playing the boys at their own game.

Re: Hannah Witton/Drunk Advice
My main gripe with Hannah is her huge ego over the years which only seems to have worsened the more well known she's becoming. Plus her subtle misandry that ,if you give me some time, can be found on many of her videos. I think she's the type of person who'll like you if you agree with her entire world view. She'll refuse to change or see things from another person's POV and is the type of person to make very blunt stupid opinions (Believing people who voted Brexit are racist is one recent example).
Whilst a great body and very beautiful, she's a typical loony lefty to me.

Re: Hannah Witton/Drunk Advice
She does have quite an ego. I think the main problem with her is that, on the one hand, she claims to be open minded (being a transectional feminist-- listening to other women's struggles and acknowledging them even if she, personally, will never experience them) but on the other hand she can be very close minded in cases like the one you stated. Now, a big chunk of Brexit voters were racist/against immigration, but another big chunk voted Brexit because they really thought it was the best decision, economically, for their country and because they were brought up in a culture and a society vastly different than the one we have today. I think Hannah has the potential to be a great spokesperson, but she should be less condescending. Her ideas are good, but the way she shares them (with blunt expressions like: if you don't believe X then you are Y-- not acknowledging that not everyone was brought up with the same values/received the same education/had the same experiences) can potentially be very toxic and bording on bullying/callout culture.Monster_Guru33 wrote:My main gripe with Hannah is her huge ego over the years which only seems to have worsened the more well known she's becoming. And that's really my main gripe with her. When her ego and bluntness doesn't take over, she's pretty reasonable, and downright watchable. But then she goes overboard (Drunk Advice is the bad party here), and makes stupid comments and blunt expressions that makes her the type of person you want to avoid.kofi wrote:Her ideas are good, but the way she shares them (with blunt expressions like: if you don't believe X then you are Y-- not acknowledging that not everyone was brought up with the same values/received the same education/had the same experiences) can potentially be very toxic and bording on bullying/callout culture.Monster_Guru33 wrote:My main gripe with Hannah is her huge ego over the years which only seems to have worsened the more well known she's becoming. Oh and she travels a lot, and then writes endless blog posts moaning about being single. Try settling down Hannah and committing.

Ugh, yeah, I could never stand her Drunk Advice videos. I liked the video she did wih Melanie Murphy when they came to Spain, and I like her Harry Potter videos. I think she should do more of those.Monster_Guru33 wrote:And that's really my main gripe with her. When her ego and bluntness doesn't take over, she's pretty reasonable, and downright watchable. Was that the vlog she did about the female porn director? I liked that too, it was worthwhile and actually had some merit, unlike 90% of her content. Melanie is much more likeable than Witton though I can't put my finger on why.kofi wrote: Ugh, yeah, I could never stand her Drunk Advice videos. The less said about those god awful 'Dunk Advice' videos the better, I don't get why they're supposed to be so hilarious? Her mirror gazing is at it's absolute worst in those, always sneaking in glances when her guest is talking, so rude. She ought to just chuck the camera on the floor and sit in front of a floor to ceiling mirror, do away with the pretence that it's about anything other than her giant ego.

Yep, that's the one. If I only watched the videos of Hannah I enjoy, I'd find her more likeable than Melanie, but taking into consideration her obnoxious Drunk Advice 'persona'... probably Melanie is better, although she herself can be quite infuriating too, especially when she responds to her vegan hatersBrigante wrote:Was that the vlog she did about the female porn director? Re: Hannah Witton/Drunk Advice
I think the whole thing about her talking about one night stands is that, fine, one night stands are a personal thing and if you want to do it, I won't judge, but in my experience, people who go around shouting from the roof tops that they have loads of sex in one night stands are actually the ones who don't really want to be doing it, and are desperately after male attention or relationships. Those who do it for fun or personal preference don't make it their entire lives, and probably wouldn't go boasting about it?
Not saying that this applies to Hannah, but I know too many friends/acquaintances who make a big show and dance about how much they like one night stands, but will break down in private/when they get drunk about how single they are and how they feel used. Hope I'm not being too general, I'm sure it doesn't apply to everyone.

Re: Hannah Witton/Drunk Advice
I find her way to approach things a bit... aggressive, and I can see why it might be a bit hard for some guy who approaches her to actually connect to her. Well, not just guys, anyone in general. I am not saying it is a bad thing to voice your opinions, but she may come off as being the one who needs to be in charge of the situation 24/7 after getting involved in any relationship.
English is my 2nd language, so, please, bear with me.

That has been my experience also, for what it's worth. I've already been compared to a Grandmother for expressing a similar view on the subject which frankly speaks volumes.clover123 wrote:I think the whole thing about her talking about one night stands is that, fine, one night stands are a personal thing and if you want to do it, I won't judge, but in my experience, people who go around shouting from the roof tops that they have loads of sex in one night stands are actually the ones who don't really want to be doing it, and are desperately after male attention or relationships. I'm 38 for the record, old enough to have lived a bit but not ready for the grave just yet. I found Witton et al through Caitlin Moran and their videos often pop into my suggested list. I'm clearly not her target audience but that shouldn't automatically negate my opinion.

I'm 22 so I would say I'm definitely in her target audience but I just don't feel like her advice translates to reality. Or at least not my reality.Brigante wrote:That has been my experience also, for what it's worth. The video posted earlier of her reaction to a guy she slept with sleeping with someone else said it all really... one night stands don't seem to be making her happy there. It just really reminded me of so many people i knew who talk the talk but when it comes down to it just aren't as happy as they make out. Which is fine! It's also okay to NOT want to have one night stands, and not feel like a prude or like you're not a feminist because of that. I don't think Hannah is trying to imply that but i do feel she's created this casual sex persona for herself and I don't think it comes across as very authentic.

Hannah can dress well, but can sometimes dress like your typical left wing student rebelling against norms. Lucy Moon's a bit like that too.
